Delinquente Wines are a natural winemaking company based in the Riverland area of South Australia. They use minimal intervention in the winery, allowing wild, ambient yeasts to occur to start the fermentation process, using no chemical aids or preservatives and using minimal fining or filtering processes. They also source their grapes from local organic farmers. They make small batches of wine, focusing on quality over quantity, and use typical Italian grape varieties which thrive in this area of Australia due to their great resistance to drought. The wines are made to represent themselves and the 'sun, the red dirt and the uniquely Australian terroir of the Riverland.'
Tuff Nut is a white pet nat made using a little known native Italian variety called Bianco D'Alessano, known for holding a high acidity in warm, drought ridden climates. This results in a really vibrant pet nat with ripe tropical fruit flavours, tingly citrus fruits and a certain mouth watering salinity on the finish. It's the perfect summer refreshment.
